Phil’s Fly fishing experience spans close to forty years, his passion lies in fishing the rivers for Grayling, Trout and Salmon, however Phil can turn his Fly Fishing knowledge and skills to many aspects of the sport including Carp and Pike on the fly. The saltwater holds no bounds as Phil can be found on the Flats of Ascension bay each year targeting Permit, Bonefish, Snook & Tarpon.
Phil is one of a new breed of up and coming instructors. He holds the highest single-handed casting qualification in the UK and Internationally (APGAI – Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor) and the Fly Fishers International MCI – (Master Certified Instructor). Phil is also qualified in Double Handed Instruction, to APGAI level with The Game Angling Instructors Association and FFI Two Handed Master Certified Instructor (THMCI) with Fly Fishers International. He is an accredited Assessor & Mentor for the Game Angling instructors Association (GAIA), Mentor for the Fly Fishers International.
All of this and his dedication to the sport over the years has culminated in Phil being endorsed by some of the leading tackle brands within the industry. He represents Fulling Mill as one of their ambassadors and regularly writes blog reports and product reviews.
Phil is an International Pro guide for Sage,Rio & Redington brands and will continue to develop his own skills within the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA) & Fly Fishers International (FFI)
